Sam & Enrico are chefs who met at the Michelin starred Locanda Locatelli. They grew up in Italy and after years of talking about bringing proper gelato to the UK, they travelled home to hone their craft with the master gelatieri of Sicily. With a headful of knowledge and a suitcase full of Bronte pistachios, they returned to London and Hackney Gelato was born.

They started making bespoke gelato for the best chefs in the city. The most popular recipes made it into tubs to be sold in shops and delis across the land. They’ve now won 40 Great Taste stars and they’re the only ice cream brand to have been awarded the maximum 3 stars for 4 different products.

Hackney Gelato is made in small batches in their East London kitchen using traditional slow churning techniques and real ingredients. It is proudly served in Michelin Star restaurants but tastes equally good spooned straight from the tub in your pyjamas.
