Pink Salt Shed, an award winning artisan food manufacturer, specialise in and are disrupting the pesto market by taking it from an ambient product sitting in a cupboard for months, to a fresh product that’s used over a few weeks; plenty of time to factor in to meal preparation or just eat straight from the jar!

Pink Salt Shed pestos will make your eyes wide and your tastebuds tingle as they are fragrant, fresh and punchy. Made over the years with the want to create something homemade and full of flavour for her young children and having some in the fridge for impromptu gatherings, friends and family would say to Kate (Kate Salter, founder) ‘you should sell this’.

So having made some, taken it to the honesty stop at the local diary to ‘try it out’, sales went vertical and Kate started making the pestos for retail in April 2021. Pink Salt Shed has brought to market such an amazing, fresh pesto with the values of minimal ingredients with no artificial additives or preservatives and minimal salt.  

All recipes are their own and are hand made in small batches. Flavours include traditional basil; plant-based basil; red chilli; sun-dried tomato; wild rocket; pea & mint; beetroot, feta & walnut; coriander; wild garlic and parsley. The plant-based basil pesto won a Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Award in 2022, more flavours will be entered in 2023 with more awards likely to come.
